Herding Dogs comprise dog breeds as
diversified as collies, german shepherd, sheepdogs and corgis
which were all bred to herd livestock.
The Border Collie is the dog breed most likely
to spring to mind when you think of herding dogs. Highly
intelligent and active, eye contact backed by aggressive
barking is of paramount importance as they will the
recalcitrant members of the herd to do as they are bid.
Tremendous energy is
expended as they run frantically to keep the herd together.
These dogs require skilled training and thrive on the
satisfaction of a job well done.
The herding group includes the

Bearded Collie

Pembroke Welsh Corgi
But I'm afraid that there are a lot more things to consider
before you come to a final decision as to which type of dog is
right for you. For example, the amount of grooming
involved, the level of involvement from the rest of
the family, what will happen to your new friend when you decide
to travel, and so much more.
That's where I can fill in the gap, by
going with you through all the aspects of this new
responsibility that getting a new
dog will add to your
life.
