Dog Training
Leashes
Dog training leashes come in leather, nylon and chain
and should be no more than four to six feet long to give you
better control and help redirect your dog's attention
towards you when he or she gets distracted. A dog that is
attached to you at the hip will remain more focused and have
less opportunities to go sniffing and discover new, tempting
scents that must be investigated.

Leather dog training
leashes are favorites with dog
trainers for many reasons. You will appreciate the
softness of the loop handle. A leather dog leash
is also flexible enough to allow you to fold it into
a shorter length if need be. A braided dog lead will give
you more traction than a flat leather lead, though
both work perfectly well.
Nylon dog
leashes are usually
reserved for walking dogs, but can also be used for dog
training. A well-crafted nylon dog lead is
sturdy and will get the job done, though you may end up
with sore hands if you have a strong dog or one that pulls
a lot.
